Bamboosa

Bamboosa is a clothing company that manufactures shirts, hats, and other apparel out of bamboo. All of their clothing is sweatshop-free and made in the USA. Bamboo fiber does not require chemical treatment, and it is a soft material that feels similar to silk or cashmere. In addition, bamboo is a highly sustainable crop because it is so fast-growing and does not usually require additional irrigation. It is biodegradable and naturally regenerative. Over 1,000 uses of bamboo have been documented. Bamboosa donates to environmental causes and is a member of 1% For the Planet. Bamboosa gave us shirts, socks, beanies, bandanas, sashes and washcloths.

Econscious is a company dedicated to making organic and sustainable apparel, including T-shirts, fleeces, hats, and bags. Their approach to sustainability encompasses all aspects of the business chain including people and process. They make sure all workers involved in the process are paid fair wages and work in good conditions. On the agricultural side, they only use fibers made without use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, or other harmful chemicals. Econscious is a member of 1% For the Planet. 63-North by Klabin Design designs and manufactures T-shirts and high-performance outdoor gear made from 100% organic cotton. All materials are plant derived, and no artificial dyes are used. They also produce all-natural lotions, skin products, and lip balm, and do not test on animals. Klabin Design has a goal to use 100% green power sources in its operations. Live It Green sells carbon neutral clothing—this certifies that the manufacturer is aware of and actively alleviating the environmental impact of their products. Live It Green sells One Ton CO2 shirts made of 100% organic cotton—every shirt represents one ton of carbon emissions offset by the Chicago Climate Exchange. Live It Green also has a program called Neutral Events which helps gatherings (including weddings, reunions, business meetings, etc.) be more eco-friendly. Their program Tunes For Trees plants a tree for every 10 songs purchased on iTunes. In addition, Live It Green is a member of 1% For the Planet. Live it Green gave us t-shirts

Patagonia

Patagonia is one of the leading businesses that combine products with environmental responsibility. Patagonia has donated over $20 million to over 1,000 grassroots organizations that protect habitat, wilderness, and biodiversity. They distribute environmental grants and are a member of 1% For the Planet. Patagonia also co-founded the Conservation Alliance in 1989, with the goal of encouraging companies in the outdoor industry to support environmental groups. The Conservation Alliance has saved over 34 million acres of wild lands, and 14 dams have either been prevented or removed due to its efforts. Patagonia produces organic cotton T-shirts and clothing made from recycled materials. Their Common Threads Garment Recycling Program began in 2005, where consumers can trade in used Patagonia clothing to be recycled. Currently Patagonia is focusing on ocean and marine life environmental issues. Patagonia gave us jackets, shirts, base layers, snow/rain pants.

Statik Mountain is a clothing company that designs high-quality outdoor clothing made from natural fibers such as organic cotton and bamboo. Their bamboo and organic cotton are biodegradable and free of pesticides.
